In a heartbreaking testimony on a recent US podcast, a US soldier who served at an aid distribution center inside Gaza recounted an unforgettable moment:\u201cAmir, a skinny, barefoot child, walked 12 kilometers in the sun to the distribution point. He received only a handful of rice and lentils from the ground. He approached me, kissed my hand and said, \u2018Thank you.\u2019 A few minutes later, as he was leaving with other civilians, the Israeli army fired tear gas and bullets, and Amir died on the spot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred on May 28, 2025, near a distribution center run by the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF) with US and Israeli support, in the Tel al-Sultan area of Rafah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food distribution operations in Gaza have turned into \u201cdeath traps,\u201d and more than 1,050 Palestinians have died trying to find food amid gunfire and tear gas fired by Israeli forces and U.S. security contractors, according to testimony and field sources, the Associated Press reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
